SUMMARY:Künstliche Intelligenz - Rollenwandel der Rechtsabteilung
DESCRIPTION:„Legal is a Language Business – and now we have Large Language Models”\, sagt der Legal Operations Experte und Referent unseres Webinars\, Achim Tschauder. Unser Experte empfiehlt „Problem first“\, und nicht „KI first“. Dies sollte jedoch nicht missverstanden werden: Denn KI ist für uns alle eine neue Technologie\, sich mit ihr vertraut zu machen\, Chancen und Risiken zu identifizieren\, ist zwingende Voraussetzung\, um jetzt wichtige strategische Weichen zu stellen. Achim Tschauder stellt außerdem die wichtigsten Anwendungsgebiete von KI in Rechtsabteilungen vor.

SUMMARY:Generative AI and the Cross-Border/Multi-Lingual E-Discovery Experience
DESCRIPTION:The presentation will delve into the impact of Generative AI on cross-border e-discovery\, with an emphasis on its multi-lingual capabilities and limitations. We’ll start by comparing the multi-lingual problem-solving strategies in e-discovery before and after the introduction of generative models. A key focus will be on the variation in multi-lingual handling by different generative models. We’ll discuss both the successes and challenges faced by generative AI in multi-lingual document review – the goal is to provide the audience with clear criteria for evaluating generative AI tools\, emphasizing the importance of informed inquiries to service providers. This approach aims to help the audience understand the relevance and potential effectiveness of various generative AI models in multi-lingual document review scenarios\, leading to a more informed application in e-discovery processes. \nSpeakers:\nStephen Dooley\n\n\n\n\n\nDirector of eDiscovery and Litigation Support\, Sullivan & Cromwell\, LLP\n\n\n\n\nStephen is an experienced leader in addressing the business needs of the lifecycle of the discovery process and implementing teams and solutions to address those efforts. SUMMARY:Fuckup Nights London - Legaltech Edition
DESCRIPTION:It’s here! The first instalment of a ‘sector themed’ Fuckup Nights London! \nFuckup Nights is a global movement and event series that shares stories of professional failure. Each month\, in events across the globe\, we get three to four people to get up in front of a room full of strangers to share their own professional fuckup. \nAt this event\, speakers will share stories of how they have fucked up in the legaltech space. We are looking for vendors and law firm people to come forward. Maybe someone from a vendor will tell us about how they fucked up their business or an acquisition/sale opportunity. What about a senior law firm IT leader spilling the beans on how they fucked up a major IT project? \nStephen Sacks\, the Fuckup Nights London host will be joined in his hosting duties by David Gilroy\, Conscious Solutions and David Newman\, Agilico. This is going to be a fun evening! \nSpeakers: \n\nStuart Whittle – hear about how a former lawyer made a hopelessly naive software choice that nearly crippled his firm.\nDan Mitchell – will not only share how password problems resulted in him being gently menaced legally by a legal sector supplier and offers advice on the three worst passwords to use if you are an MSP.\n\nStuart Whittle is a former professional indemnity lawyer turned\, (somewhat arbitrarily)\, IT director. Early in his career as IT Director\, keen to make an impression in his firm and the legal IT community\, he embarked on what turned out to be a spectacularly ill-judged\, firmwide project to replace the firm’s front-of-house case management solution used by everyone in the firm. Come and listen to his cathartic unburdening where he talks about the impact it had on his firm (where\, unaccountably\, he still works) and on him personally. \nDan Mitchell has only ever worked for two law firms yet that still gives him over 20 years in the legal sector. In this Q&A style session with David Gilroy\, Dan will not just talk passwords but also how not to upgrade an eight-site law firm’s telephone system overnight. \nIf you want to hear how you can learn from our mistakes\, hear our stories\, and network with a group that recognise that businesses and their leaders must fail to ultimately succeed then you need to show up on Tuesday 16 January for what promises to be an amazing evening of beer (first one is free and canapés are included)\, laughs and therapy. \nThis event is held in partnership with LegalTech Insider: https://legaltechnology.com/ \nLet’s change the narrative\, let’s #ShareTheFailure.

SUMMARY:Cybersecurity for Lawyers
DESCRIPTION:In July 2023\, the legal community learned that three AmLaw 50 law firms have fallen victim to ransomware group Clop\, resulting in major data breaches. In November\, a Magic Circle firm got attacked by LockBit\, another ransomware group. Smaller firms are getting compromised in even larger numbers. 2023 has become the year of class-action suits against law firms because of data breaches. \nIn a world where everything is connected and accessible online\, and where law firms sit on terabytes of valuable client data\, bullet-proof cybersecurity is a sine qua non. But in reality most law firms’ cyber defense has more holes than a Swiss cheese. Don’t let your data end up on the Darknet. Join cybersec-savvy lawyer Przemysław Barchan and cybersecurity expert Alexander Sverdlov on January 16\, 2024\, at 11 am CET for an interesting conversation about cybersecurity for lawyers and actionable advice that every law firm can use to make it’s shields almost impenetrable. Remember – in cybersecurity and in bear hunting you don’t have to outrun the attacker\, you just have to outrun the person next to you. \nAbout the speakers:\nPrzemysław Barchan is the founder and managing partner at Barchan Legal\, an IT & New Technologies law firm\, ELTA ambassador for Poland and Director of the Institute of LegalTech at the Polish Supreme Bar Council. \nAlexander Sverdlov is a cyber and information security expert at IT Security Company – Atlant Security\, a consulting company that provides a wide range of services from cloud security architecture to internal infrastructure security hardening\, security assessment and security awareness training.
