DESCRIPTION:It’s here! The first instalment of a ‘sector themed’ Fuckup Nights London! \nFuckup Nights is a global movement and event series that shares stories of professional failure. We are looking for vendors and law firm people to come forward. Maybe someone from a vendor will tell us about how they fucked up their business or an acquisition/sale opportunity. What about a senior law firm IT leader spilling the beans on how they fucked up a major IT project? \nStephen Sacks\, the Fuckup Nights London host will be joined in his hosting duties by David Gilroy\, Conscious Solutions and David Newman\, Agilico. This is going to be a fun evening! \nSpeakers: \n\nStuart Whittle – hear about how a former lawyer made a hopelessly naive software choice that nearly crippled his firm.\nDan Mitchell – will not only share how password problems resulted in him being gently menaced legally by a legal sector supplier and offers advice on the three worst passwords to use if you are an MSP.\n\nStuart Whittle is a former professional indemnity lawyer turned\, (somewhat arbitrarily)\, IT director. Early in his career as IT Director\, keen to make an impression in his firm and the legal IT community\, he embarked on what turned out to be a spectacularly ill-judged\, firmwide project to replace the firm’s front-of-house case management solution used by everyone in the firm. Come and listen to his cathartic unburdening where he talks about the impact it had on his firm (where\, unaccountably\, he still works) and on him personally. \nDan Mitchell has only ever worked for two law firms yet that still gives him over 20 years in the legal sector.
